Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Orthodontist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, planning, and implementing orthodontic treatment plans to improve patients' dental alignment and overall oral health. This role requires a deep understanding of orthodontic techniques, patient care, and the latest dental technologies. The Orthodontist will work closely with a team of dental professionals to deliver exceptional care in a patient-centered environment, ensuring adherence to all healthcare regulations and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive orthodontic assessments, including patient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning using advanced dental imaging and medical documentation tools. Develop personalized orthodontic treatment plans utilizing expertise in dental diagnosis, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology. Perform orthodontic procedures such as fitting braces, aligners, retainers, and other appliances to correct malocclusions. Collaborate with general dentists and specialists on complex cases involving dental implants, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, or pediatric dentistry when necessary. Ensure all treatments comply with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws while maintaining accurate medical records and documentation in electronic health record systems like Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix. Educate patients on treatment options, procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health maintenance to promote client communication and satisfaction. Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and adhere to OSHA standards for infection prevention. Stay updated on advancements in orthodontics, dental fabrication techniques, medical imaging technology, and healthcare diagnosis methods to provide cutting-edge care. Manage patient assessments effectively while ensuring comfort through appropriate anesthesiology practices when required. Uphold the highest standards of client communication, professionalism, and ethical practice throughout all patient interactions. Requirements Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution with valid state licensure as an Orthodontist. Proven experience in orthodontics with proficiency in Four-handed dentistry and general dentistry principles. Expertise in using dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for documentation and patient management. Strong knowledge of dental diagnosis, medical terminology, dental terminology, infection control procedures, and healthcare regulations including HIPAA. Hands-on experience with dental implants, oral surgery procedures including dental extractions and root canal therapy is preferred. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices when treating younger patients. Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care. Ability to work within a team environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Commitment to continuing education in orthodontics and related fields to stay current with industry standards.
