Job Description
Health Center Inc. (also known as The New York Hotel Trades Council and Hotel Association of NYC, Inc Employee Benefit Funds) is a NYC based healthcare organization with ambulatory care facilities staffed with a wide range of health professionals to provide extensive medical and diagnostic services. We offer Primary Care, Dental, Radiological, Vision, Mental Health, and other Specialist services at our facilities at no charge to our Union members (which consist of hotel employees), removing the financial roadblock that many people face when trying to obtain quality medical or dental care. We are looking for an Oral Surgeon for our Midtown location to help in our mission of providing top notch dental services to our Union members. It's an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to make an impact for under-represented communities and have a stable work schedule (No weekends and no overnights!) Please note this role is a Part Time Position - you are expected to work 17.50 hours a week. However, you would still eligible for a multitude of benefits, including our free comprehensive health insurance plan!
Duties and Responsibilities :
Performs patient examination. Consults with patient and analyzes data to determine patient needs and treatment plan. Collaborates with other dental specialists to plan treatment. Administers general and local anesthetics, when necessary. Performs surgical procedures to extract impacted or damaged teeth, place implants and remove tumors or other abnormal growths of the oral or facial regions and aid in the regeneration of deficient bone and gum tissue. Creates and maintains patient record. Prescribes medication to improve recovery and control pain after procedure. Instruct patients regarding preventative care. Contribute to team efforts. Performs other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:
DDS or DMD degree. Medical Degree a plus Current NY State Dental License 4 -6 years of residency training. Board certified in oral surgery. Meets all requirements for appointment/reappointment as a member of the medical staff. Current BCLS certification. Excellent communication and presentation skills Outstanding hand-eye coordination and dexterity. Ability to remain calm under pressure situations. Detail oriented.Benefits Include:
