Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive onsite dental care to inmates at the Hamilton County Justice Center. Conduct dental examinations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning. Provide preventive, restorative, and emergency dental care within the scope of practice. Perform extractions and other clinically necessary dental procedures. Evaluate and treat urgent dental conditions, including pain, infection, trauma, and other acute needs. Identify patients requiring specialty care and coordinate offsite dental/oral surgery referrals and follow-up. Maintain accurate and timely dental records, treatment plans, referrals, and follow-up documentation in the EHR. Provide oral health education and preventive dental guidance to inmates. Maintain proper infection prevention, safety, and sterilization practices. Coordinate patient care with medical, nursing, mental-health, pharmacy, and custody staff. Follow applicable Ohio dental regulations, NCCHC standards, and Hamilton County Justice Center policies. Maintain patient confidentiality and all required professional licenses, certifications, and credentials. Participate in quality-improvement activities and other clinical meetings as required.

Education:

Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), or Degree must be obtained from an appropriately accredited dental school.

Licenses and Certifications:

Active, unrestricted Ohio Dental License — Essential. Any additional professional registration or authorization required by the State of Ohio or facility to perform assigned duties. As Applicable / If Required

BLS/CPR/AED

certification, if required for the position or assigned duties. CCHP or CCHP-A, if held. ACLS, only if required for assigned duties and currently held. Applicable Ohio controlled-substance and/or DEA registration, if the Dentist's duties include prescribing controlled substances. Other relevant dental certifications that are currently held and applicable to the position. About our
