Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Locum Dentist to join our dynamic dental team on a temporary basis, providing exceptional patient care and maintaining high standards of clinical excellence. This six-month contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a busy dental practice, delivering comprehensive general dentistry services with a focus on patient satisfaction and safety. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality dental treatments, managing patient assessments, and ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations. Duties Provide a full range of general dental treatments including examinations, restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery procedures. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental histories, to develop appropriate treatment plans. Perform dental diagnostics utilizing medical imaging and dental terminology to accurately identify oral health issues. Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment. Utilize dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix for documentation, scheduling, and record keeping. Communicate effectively with patients to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain comprehensive medical records in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations. Assist in dental fabrication procedures and manage dental implants or orthodontic treatments as needed. Execute dental extractions, root canal therapy, and oral surgeries with precision and care. Support the team with pediatric dentistry services when required, ensuring a compassionate approach for young patients. Requirements Valid dental license to practice in the applicable state or region. Proven experience in general dentistry within a busy dental clinic environment. Proficiency with dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix; familiarity with digital imaging systems is preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and healthcare diagnosis processes. Ability to perform complex procedures including dental implants, endodontics (root canals), oral surgery, and prosthodontics confidently. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient care and education. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws governing medical documentation and records management. Experience with pediatric dentistry and anesthesia techniques is advantageous but not mandatory. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in four-handed dentistry setups while maintaining high standards of aseptic technique.
