Job Description
Overview The Staff Pad is partnering with a healthcare organization to hire a Food Service Unit Host to support patient meal service and overall nutrition care. This role works directly with patients to ensure meals are accurate, timely, and aligned with prescribed dietary needs, helping create a positive and supportive experience during their stay.
Schedule:
Part time (flexible shifts - must be available on weekends and evenings) Key Responsibilities Assist patients with menu selections and meal ordering based on dietary guidelines Ensure meals are delivered accurately and in a timely manner Review trays for quality, accuracy, and compliance with therapeutic diets Document patient meal intake and communicate updates as needed Provide clear, friendly communication with patients and families regarding dietary needs Prepare light food items and support basic kitchen tasks Stock unit pantries and maintain adequate supplies Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hospital protocols Collaborate with dietary and clinical teams to support patient care Why This Role Opportunity to directly impact patient experience and recovery Flexible Part time schedule Supportive, mission-driven healthcare environment Requirements Qualifications Previous food service experience preferred (healthcare setting a plus) Familiarity with therapeutic diets is a plus Strong communication and customer service skills Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions and dietary guidelines Team-oriented with a patient-first mindset Education High School Diploma or GED preferredCareer Insights for Dietary Aide
