Job Description

Providing Short-term Rehabilitation and Long-term Care, our dedicated and seasoned team remain focused on the principles of safety, kindness and compassion. Bethany Gardens is actively looking for Dietary Aides to join our food service team. As a Dietary Aide, you will be responsible for the preparation, presentation and delivery of nutritious, palatable and presentable meals to our residents and patients. This position will assist in maintaining the high standards of patient safety, privacy, care and cleanliness within the facility. Previous experience as a dietary aide and/or as a food service worker is recommended but is not required for this position.
Responsibilities:
Prepare daily nourishments for our residents Stock units with nourishments between meal services Check refrigerator and freezer temperatures daily as well as clean unit refrigerators Assist the cooks with preparation of breakfast, lunch and supper Assist on the service line during breakfast, lunch and supper Restock line fridge before each meal Prepare thickened liquids for each meal Prepare and deliver coffee carts to each unit for each meal Deliver meal carts to the units for each meal and collect them at the end of each meal Wash dishes and meal carts after each meal service Complete Sanitizer Logs/Dish Temperature Logs Ensure work area is kept clean and daily cleaning list is completed (i.e. sweeping/mopping daily, cleaning fridge, cleaning countertops, etc…) Remove trash and recyclables from the kitchen, ensure boxes are broken down Follow all food and nutritional services policies and procedures All other duties as assigned by the
Director of Food and Nutritional Services Requirements:
Previous experience preferred but not required Weekend and holiday availability is required Some heavy lifting required
Education:
High School diploma or GED.
