Job Description

Richmond Community Services, a leading nonprofit provider of support services for the disability community, is seeking a Dietary Aide for our Yonkers Intermediate Care Facility (ICF).
JOB SUMMARY
Prepare and set-up meals, desserts, salads, nourishments, snacks and school lunches for staff and/or individuals of the facility. Responsible for general sanitary upkeep of kitchen area.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepares steam table by filling the unit with hot water. This requires manual dexterity to turn the faucets on and off. Ignites burners beneath the table by bending and stooping to floor level and reaching full arm length to activate the burners (by striking a match). Transports food trucks by walking, pushing/pulling a loaded cart weighing up to 60 lbs to and from the Team Units via the elevator throughout the facility. In cases when the elevators are not functioning, must be able to manually transport trays weighing up to 20 lbs, while climbing/descending all flights of stairs throughout the facility. Prepares snacks, nourishments and thickened fluids. This requires the ability to lift large food storage containers from freezers, refrigerators and storage room, weighing up to 10 lbs, and carrying them to preparation areas. Cleans and sanitizes equipment, food trucks, meal trays, tables and counter tops by exercising use of all extremities. Prepares and sets up meal items such as salads, sandwiches, coffee, tube-feedings and desserts. Must be able to read, understand and implement dietary orders as prescribed by Dietitian. Fills meal/food orders from staff by receiving a written receipts and verbal requests. This requires auditory and visual acuity and the ability to read and communicate verbally using the English language. Labels all prepared foods, by writing information using the English language, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
HS Diploma or GED preferred
Experience:
1-year of experience in commercial food service is preferred.
Other:
