Job Summary The Certified Dietary Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the dietary department within an assisted living facility. This position is responsible for ensuring that residents receive proper nutrition tailored to their individual health needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dietetics and physiology, along with experience in patient assessment and health coaching. This role requires effective supervision of dietary staff and the ability to manage dietary operations efficiently. Duties Conduct patient assessments to determine individual dietary needs and preferences. Develop and implement nutritional care plans that cater to residents' health conditions. Oversee the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring compliance with dietary guidelines. Manage tube feeding protocols for residents requiring specialized nutrition. Supervise dietary department staff, providing training and support as needed. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize residents' nutritional outcomes. Maintain accurate records of dietary services, including meal plans and resident feedback. Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards within the kitchen and dining areas. Qualifications Certification as a Dietary Manager is required. Experience in assisted living or similar healthcare settings is preferred. Strong knowledge of dietetics, physiology, and nutrition principles. Proficiency in patient assessment techniques and health coaching strategies. Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to manage a team effectively. Familiarity with tube feeding practices and related medical protocols is a plus. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with residents and staff. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
