Description

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Chef Manager, the Dietary Aide will wait tables, fill condiments, wash and dry dishes, and assist the Chef Manager as needed. Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the age-specific needs of the individuals served.

EDUCATION

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Six months of food service/restaurant experience preferred.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB

Serves residents their meals. Sets up tables and dining area for meals. Cleans tables and dining area after meals. Fills condiments in anticipation of meals. Assists with washing and drying of dishes and kitchen utensils; and sweeping and mopping of kitchen floor. Assists Chef Manager with routine kitchen duties such as stocking shelves and putting food orders away.

SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check. Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective interaction with staff and visitors. Must have pleasant personality and enjoy interacting with elderly people. Must be willing to work flexible working hours.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in a well-lit, ventilated dining room, dish room, and kitchen.
