Culinary Assistant Job Description Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Culinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the kitchen staff in food preparation and service. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for cooking and a desire to contribute to a positive dining experience in an assisted living environment. Duties Assist in the preparation of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines. Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas. Support the cooking staff by performing tasks such as chopping, mixing, and measuring ingredients. Help with serving meals to residents, ensuring proper portion sizes and presentation. Buss tables after meals to maintain a tidy dining area. Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages as needed. Participate in maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols. Skills Proficiency in food preparation techniques and knowledge of dietary practices. Experience in an assisted living or healthcare kitchen setting is preferred but not required. Strong understanding of food handling practices and sanitation standards. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Willingness to learn new skills related to dietetics and food service operations. Pay:
$16.00 - $21.00 per hour
