  • Day Shift We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our dedicated team.
The RD will play a vital role in providing comprehensive and individualized nutritional care to patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis treatment.
Location:
21400 Kelly Rd. Eastpointe, MI 48021 Eastpointe Dialysis is a freestanding outpatient dialysis facility. The department is staffed with Nephrologists, Registered Nurses, and Dialysis Clinical Technicians. The unit has multiple support staff members including the front desk team and tech leader staff (machine maintenance) that may assist with operational duties within the clinic. Our team provides patient education as well as referrals to transplant services for sites the patient requests to be referred to. The unit is typically open Monday through Saturday from 5:00 am to 7:30 pm for patient care hours with some flexibility based on the clinic's needs. You'll collaborate with fellow dietitians to share insights and create meaningful educational experiences that truly impact patient outcomes.

Know Your Patients:
  • Conduct engaging initial and follow-up assessments with patients and their support systems to understand their unique nutritional needs.
  • Assess & Analyze:
  • Evaluate patients' nutritional status and track progress over time with keen attention to detail.
  • Prescribe & Educate:
  • Design personalized diets, calculate nutritional requirements, and empower patients, caregivers, and staff with practical nutrition knowledge they can actually use.
  • Build the
Bridge:
  • Coordinate seamlessly with hospitals, extended care facilities, home health agencies, senior centers, and community nutrition programs to ensure continuity of care.
  • Stay on
Track:
  • Monitor how well patients are following their nutrition plans and celebrate wins along the way.
  • Optimize Medications & Supplements:
  • Make thoughtful recommendations on phosphorus binders, renal vitamins, stool softeners, oral iron products, cinacalcet, vitamin D analogs, and calcium supplements.
  • Dive into the

  • Review monthly lab results with patients, translating numbers into actionable insights.
  • Problem-Solve Creatively:
  • Recommend and monitor alternative feeding strategies, including tube feedings and supplemental nutrition options.

  • Provide swift crisis intervention when needed—from managing panic values to addressing hyperkalemia with confidence.

  • Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor of Science in Nutrition. Completion of an approved dietetic internship. ADA Registered Minimum of 1-year professional experience as RD in clinical nutrition
