Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Manager to oversee the nutritional and food service operations within a healthcare or assisted living facility. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of dietary management, food safety, and health regulation policies. As a Dietary Manager, you will lead the dietary department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality nutrition services that meet residents' or patients' needs while maintaining compliance with health standards. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans that incorporate nutritional assessments and dietary requirements for residents or patients. Manage food service operations, including menu planning, food production, and ensuring adherence to dietary guidelines and health codes. Supervise and manage food service teams, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of service. Oversee food safety management practices, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulation policies. Coordinate with clinical staff to perform diagnostic evaluations related to nutrition needs and adjust care plans accordingly. Maintain accurate records using electronic health records (EHR) systems to document dietary assessments, care plans, and compliance activities. Manage departmental budgets effectively, controlling costs while ensuring quality nutrition services are delivered consistently. Ensure compliance with all relevant health regulations and policies governing food service health code standards in healthcare settings. Lead efforts in managing tube feeding programs and other specialized nutritional interventions for residents or patients requiring advanced nutritional support. Promote health coaching initiatives aimed at improving residents' or patients' overall wellness through nutrition education and lifestyle modifications. Qualifications Proven experience in assisted living or healthcare food service management with a strong background in dietetics or clinical nutrition. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing food service teams within a dietary department environment. Knowledge of health regulation policies, food safety management, and food service health code compliance. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records related to nutrition care plans. Experience conducting patient assessments, including physiology knowledge relevant to nutritional needs and acute care settings. Strong supervisory skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams effectively. Expertise in managing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation within a dietary department. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals, residents or patients, and their families. Knowledge of food production processes, dietetics principles, and clinical nutrition practices necessary for developing personalized care plans.
