Interrelationships:
Collaborates with the Chief Executive Officer, members of the executive team, all hospital department managers and staff, medical staff, patients, their significant others, and the public. Duties A. Provides overall leadership across all clinical departments. B. Leads clinical initiatives and manages day-to-day operations to align with organizational goals. C. Fosters collaboration across interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and improve clinical practices. D. Drives nursing excellence by ensuring compliance with the ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice. E. Oversees staff education and clinical performance to achieve optimal patient care. F. Maintains knowledge of regulatory requirements for clinical services. G. Ensures the implementation of best practices and continuous improvements in patient safety and care quality, meeting national benchmarks and safety standards. H. Appropriately allocates resources for the clinical departments. I. Develops and maintains effective communication processes. J. Develops, mentors, and retains nursing staff while fostering a supportive and innovative work environment. Manages staffing and performance to meet the evolving needs of patient care. K. Maintains the scope and standards of professional nursing and nurse administration. L. Responsible for long-term planning for nursing and clinical services. M. Acts as a clinical liaison at medical staff meetings. N. Appoints committees and workgroups to promote performance improvement principles within the clinical departments. O. Serves as an active member of the Executive Council and assists in developing and promoting the hospital's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan. P. Develops and promotes the mission, vision, and values of the clinical departments. Q. Manages department budgets effectively, ensuring optimal use of resources while maintaining fiscal integrity. Qualifications A.
Education & Licensure:
a. Graduate from an accredited nursing program. b. Current licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. c. A master's degree in nursing (MSN) or a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN), along with a master's degree in a related field, is required. Alternatively, candidates must have an active plan to complete the required qualifications within five years of appointment. B.
Training and Experience:
a. Minimum of ten years of nursing experience b. Minimum of five years of nursing leadership experience c. Demonstrated skills in project management and operational leadership are essential. d. Experience with the budgeting process and management techniques is crucial. C.
