Overview We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing Services to lead our nursing team within a reputable assisted living and nursing home environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive nursing experience, and a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations, including Medicare and HIPAA compliance. This role offers an opportunity to oversee clinical operations, ensure high-quality resident care, and maintain regulatory standards across various care settings such as home health, hospice, and acute care. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and management of nursing services across all departments, including assisted living, home health, hospice, and acute care units. Oversee the development, implementation, and review of care plans , ensuring they meet residents' needs and comply with regulatory standards. Supervise nursing staff, including nurse management and supervising experience, ensuring proper staffing levels and shift management. Ensure accurate documentation review and maintenance of medical records using EMR and EHR systems to support quality care delivery. Maintain compliance with HIPAA , Medicare regulations, and other federal/state healthcare guidelines. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident outcomes through effective physiology and anatomy knowledge application. Oversee the management of resident's , ensuring personalized care that respects individual needs and preferences. Monitor clinical performance metrics related to MDS assessments, documentation accuracy, and overall quality assurance initiatives. Lead staff training on medical terminology, documentation procedures, and regulatory updates to uphold high standards of nursing practice. Manage incident reports, safety protocols, and infection control procedures to foster a safe environment for residents and staff. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license with current licensure in the state of practice. Extensive experience in assisted living , nursing home , home health , or hospice care settings; prior experience in acute care is highly desirable. Proven leadership skills with demonstrated success in nursing administration , management , and supervising multidisciplinary teams. Strong knowledge of Medicare , regulatory compliance standards, HIPAA , and healthcare documentation practices. Proficiency with EMR systems and EHR systems for managing medical records efficiently. In-depth understanding of care plans , resident assessment tools like MDS , and medical terminology. Excellent communication skills with the ability to review complex documentation effectively and lead staff training initiatives. Ability to manage multiple priorities across shifts while maintaining high-quality resident care standards.
