The Director of Nursing will be a registered professional nurse who has at least one year of full time or full time equivalent experience in nursing supervision and/or nursing administration in a licensed health care facility. This nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing service of the facility and supervision of other nurses and ancillary staff as required by Lily Life Adult Day Care. Essential Functions 1. Interviewing the recipients and caregivers in order to evaluate the client's health status and health care needs. 2. Monitoring of identified medical conditions. 3. Administration and supervision of prescribed medications and treatments. 4. Coordination of rehabilitative services. 5. Monitoring of clinical behavior and nutritional status. 6. Assisting with the maintenance or redevelopment of ADL skills. 7. Developing and implementing infection control procedures. 8. Communicating the finding to the Medical Director and/or clients' physicians. 9. Documenting the nursing services provided, including the initial assessment. 10. Evaluation of the client's health care needs, development of the nursing components in their plan of care. 11. Overseeing the multidisciplinary plan of care. 12. Alerting others involved in the client's care about changes in status and to change the plan of care when necessary. 13. Establishing relationship with appropriate personnel in other institutions such as: hospitals, rehabilitation centers, home health agencies, clinics, case management sites, laboratories, and related community resources and maintaining ongoing communication with those providers. 14. Linking the client to needed health care services outside the program. 15. Coordinating the interdisciplinary care of plan to meet the mutually identified health care and psychosocial needs of each client. 16. Providing staff with training and consultation on medically related topics. 17. Providing health education for family members. 18. Be an advocate to assist the client and family to resolve problems. 19. Developing and implementing a quality assurance program for nursing components. 20. Supervises RN's, LPN's, and ancillary care staff.
