Director of Rehabilitation
Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Director of Rehabilitation to lead our rehabilitation services department. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in physical therapy, healthcare management specifically in skilled care, and clinical operations, with a proven track record of supervising multidisciplinary teams and managing complex rehabilitation programs. As the Director, you will oversee all aspects of clinical service delivery, staff supervision, fiscal management, and compliance with healthcare regulations to ensure the highest quality of patient care and operational efficiency. We are also offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus or relocation assistance! Duties Provide strategic leadership for the rehabilitation department, setting goals aligned with organizational objectives and patient care standards. Supervise and mentor physical and occupational therapists and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment. Oversee clinical operations, ensuring adherence to medical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and JCAHO accreditation. Manage departmental budgets, including fiscal management, billing processes, and resource allocation to optimize financial performance. Coordinate with medical staff and administrative teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to patient needs. Implement quality improvement initiatives utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to enhance documentation accuracy and workflow efficiency. Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, including utilization management, managed care policies, and medical records management. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Therapist, with current certification in good standing. Extensive experience in clinical rehabilitation settings, including acute care or hospital environments. Proven supervisory experience managing multidisciplinary healthcare teams within a complex medical or rehabilitation facility. Strong knowledge of fiscal management principles, budgeting processes, and financial management practices in healthcare settings. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks; experience with office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous. Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and JCAHO standards. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff, foster professional development, and promote a positive team culture. Experience in medical office management or healthcare administration is highly desirable.
