Opportunity Shift 9AM-9
PM Job Summary:
The Emergency Medical Technical (EMT)/Vehicle Service Technician (VST) Lead is responsible for ensuring that all ambulances are response ready for field crews coming in for their shift assignment, with the goal of reducing down time and increasing the quality and delivery of our services to the crews and our patients. The product delivered is a clean vehicle inside and out with well stocked shelves and functioning equipment. It is important that the product produced is maintained to the highest standard.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, communicate and assist field crews with prompt in-service
  • Assure proper accountability of equipment issued to crews
  • Assist in responding to calls when required by Field Operations Battalion Chief
  • Supervise and manage Vehicle Safety Technicians (VSTs)
  • Manage and monitor VST area, warehouse, and facilities, including but not limited to building maintenance, cleanliness, and minor repairs.
  • Monitor medical equipment, supplies, and medication inventory
  • Assist Deputy Chief with Preventive Maintenance for cardiac monitors and stretchers
  • Maintain inventories on radios, gas cards, toughbooks, and monitors
  • Assist Deputy Chief with monitoring gas card transactions
  • Manage and coordinate Operative IQ functions
  • Monitor vehicle counts and revise Fleet Watch as needed
  • Assist with scheduling fire extinguisher inspections with vendor
  • Assist Deputy Chiefs with budget department and planning
  • Monitor vehicle counts (in and out of service units)
  • Manage and assist VSTs and Supervision with unit deployments to get crews in service in a timely manner, especially during high volume periods.
Other Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate and provide relevant information on all KPI meetings
  • Assist I.T in tracking or equipment and repairs

Scheduler Qualifications/Experience:
  • Minimum of 1-year as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid State of Driver's License
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current EMT certification (Advances, Basic, Intermediate)
  • No Corrective actions within last six (6) months (internal employees)
Mental Requirements:
Critical thinking skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Analyzing and decision making. Simple reading, writing, and math skills. Clerical memorization, perception/computation, problem solving and reasoning.
Physical Demands:
Smelling, reading, kneeling, stooping, bending, leaning, twisting, hearing/listening, clear speech, simple touching, pushing, pulling, reaching standing, sitting. Carrying multiple pieces of equipment while pushing cot. Driving ambulances, walking inside and outside in weather. Performing visual inspections. Climbing a ladder or stepping stool.
