Compensation will be discussed with the hiring manager and is based on licensure, certifications, qualifications, and relevant experience. Summary of Responsibilities The Mental Health Therapist plays a vital role at Headwaters Behavioral Health's Children's Residential Treatment Facility, working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team to support adolescents experiencing significant emotional and behavioral challenges. This position provides trauma-informed therapeutic services to youth ages 12-17, promoting psychiatric stabilization, resilience, and overall well-being. Using strong clinical judgment, the therapist conducts comprehensive assessments, develops and directs individualized treatment plans, and provides individual, group, and family therapy. This role includes ongoing evaluation of treatment effectiveness, crisis intervention, and collaboration with nursing staff, physicians, leadership, and the broader care team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care. Success in this role requires empathy, adaptability, and excellent communication skills. The therapist must consider each adolescent's developmental stage, mental health history, and cultural background to provide compassionate, individualized care. In our state-of-the-art facility, therapists have the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of youth and their families during critical moments of healing and growth. Qualifications Hold a master's or higher degree with an emphasis in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field, required. Comply with accepted professional licensing standards in the state of Idaho. We accept supervised-licensure candidates (LMSW, LPC, LMFT, etc.) working toward independent licensure! One (1) year of post-graduate clinical experience with adolescents in a behavioral health, trauma-informed, or residential setting preferred
Preferred:
EMDR, Polyvagal Theory, or HeartMath familiarity, and prior residential or group therapy experience. Obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR. Licensed driver with an automobile that is in good working order to get to and from work in various weather conditions to ensure reliability. $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
