Job Description

Description Be the reason a kid has a better day! We are hiring a Behavioral Coach for our school-based day treatment program. Work school hours, have your evenings and weekends free, and help kids learn the skills that change how they see themselves. As a Behavioral Coach, you're a steady, caring adult in a student's school day. You help kids learn to manage big feelings, build friendships and succeed in the classroom. You won't do it alone: you'll work side by side with teachers, therapists and fellow coaches who have your back every day. A schedule built around the school day. Daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with evenings, weekends and school breaks that work for your life. No overnights. Work that matters. You'll see the progress up close helping kids everyday. A true team. Coaches, teachers, therapists and families work together on every student's plan. You'll debrief together, problem-solve together and celebrate wins together. Training and growth. We train you in non-violent crisis intervention and mental health principles. It's a strong start for a career in education, psychology, social work or counseling. Never a boring day. You'll run, play, teach and get outside with kids, including field trips during summer programming. Requirements Support students in classroom activities, therapeutic assignments and educational programming Model and teach classroom skills, manners, social skills and safe ways to express feelings Redirect behavior with patience and therapeutic communication, and keep the classroom safe using non-violent crisis intervention techniques Follow each student's individualized treatment and intervention plan Observe and document student behavior, then share updates with the whole team Partner with therapists, teachers, parents and outside providers on each student's progress, and help schedule appointments with guardians Join classroom meetings and team debriefs Help lead summer programming, including field trips, and drive the van for pick-up and drop-off as needed Give school-time medications to students after completing Medication Aide training Complete charting and documentation in our electronic medical record on time
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED (college coursework is a plus, not a requirement) At least 2 years working with youth with emotional or behavioral challenges, direct-service experience in human services, or post-secondary education in human services Patience, compassion and a sense of humor A team-first attitude and clear communication with people of all backgrounds Calm under pressure and good judgment in tough moments The energy to keep up with kids: running, playing, lifting and spending time indoors and outdoors Physically able to manage escalated or aggressive behavior (we'll train you) Respect for confidentiality Willingness to complete Medication Aide training after hire A valid driver's license is preferred
