Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Child and Family Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team. Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify client needs and develop personalized treatment plans. Deliver individual and family counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, art therapy, and trauma-specific interventions. Implement behavioral health strategies including applied behavior analysis and behavior management techniques tailored to children with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Facilitate crisis intervention and conflict management to ensure client safety and stability during challenging situations. Collaborate with families, schools, social services, and community agencies to coordinate case management efforts and support holistic care approaches. Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines while ensuring timely medical records updates. Collect data on treatment progress, conduct mental health and behavioral care assessments, and adjust interventions accordingly to optimize outcomes. Skills Extensive experience working with children, youth, and families in diverse cultural backgrounds within home or community care settings. Proficiency in mental health assessments, diagnostic evaluation, case management, and evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy and applied behavior analysis. Strong knowledge of trauma-specific interventions, crisis management, conflict resolution, and gender issues counseling. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments while adhering to HIPAA standards for medical documentation and records management. Skilled in client communication techniques including motivational interviewing, cultural diversity counseling, and child & family counseling strategies. Experience working with children is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical terminology related to mental health conditions and experience working within clinical ethical guidelines is essential for success in this role.
