Serving as the primary communication link between patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary departments. Welcoming and assisting patients, visitors, and guests with professionalism and compassion. Coordinating patient flow and supporting daily unit operations. Tracking consults, STAT orders, patient movement, and other essential clinical support activities. Managing phone communications and responding to inquiries promptly and professionally. Maintaining records, data entry, filing systems, and unit documentation. Ordering supplies and helping ensure the unit remains organized and operational. Qualifications Education:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

Completion of an approved Health Unit Coordinator/Unit Secretary program OR One (1) year of related work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Specialized Training:

Ability to successfully complete Valleywise Health computer training programs.

Certification:
