Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and highly adaptable Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator - Float to support both our clinical and front office teams. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a professional healthcare environment, is comfortable wearing multiple hats, and takes pride in providing an exceptional patient experience. The Float will work across both clinical and administrative areas of the practice, assisting with patient care, provider support, scheduling, check-in/check-out, and other office operations as needed. The ability to prioritize tasks, transition between responsibilities, and work collaboratively with both clinical and administrative team members is essential. Our ideal candidate is professional, compassionate, detail-oriented, and willing to step in wherever needed to help maintain efficient patient flow and a positive experience for every patient. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical / Medical Assistant Responsibilities Greet and prepare patients for examinations, obtain vital signs, document medical history, and update patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Assist providers with examinations and procedures, ensuring instruments, supplies, and equipment are properly prepared and available. Collect specimens such as swabs, and perform basic clinical testing as directed by the provider. Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and clinical supplies in a clean, safe, organized, and appropriately stocked condition. Assist with patient education and provide compassionate support throughout the patient visit. Ensure appropriate documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Follow all clinical protocols, HIPAA requirements, and office policies. Front Office / Patient Care Coordinator Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally both in person and by phone. Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals. Efficiently check patients in and out while maintaining accurate patient information. Verify patient demographics and insurance information and collect co-pays or other payments as needed. Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and route messages to the appropriate team member. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the EMR system. Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff to support efficient patient flow. Assist with referrals, authorizations, and basic insurance-related questions as needed. Process documentation and assist with other administrative duties as assigned. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office environment.
