Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Front Desk Insurance Coordinator to join our Dental team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, insurance providers, and clinical staff, ensuring smooth administrative operations within a busy environment. Your expertise in Dental billing, insurance verification, and electronic health record (EHR) systems will be essential to maintaining efficient clinic workflows and delivering exceptional patient service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality healthcare delivery while utilizing your strong organizational and communication skills. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service while managing check-in and check-out procedures. Verify patient insurance coverage, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers, utilizing systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks. Collect and review medical documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Assist with medical billing processes by coding procedures with CPT codes and
ICD-10/ICD-9/ICD
coding standards, ensuring accurate claim submissions. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems by updating patient information, filing documents, and maintaining organized medical records. Schedule patient appointments using medical office management software while coordinating with clinical staff for care plans and follow-up visits. Handle phone communication professionally, answering inquiries related to health insurance coverage, appointment scheduling, or billing questions with clarity and courtesy. Skills Proven experience with medical collection processes and health insurance knowledge including Medicare and Medicaid. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to safeguard patient information. Skilled in CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards, and medical billing procedures. Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office suite; capable of typing quickly (including 10 key typing) for documentation review and data entry. Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Prior clinic experience or medical office management background is preferred; dental clinic experience is a plus. Exceptional customer service skills combined with phone etiquette and professional communication abilities. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and filing tasks.
