Duties Safely administer prescribed medications to residents following all applicable laws, regulations, and facility policies. Monitor residents' vital signs and observe for any adverse reactions or changes in condition. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medication records, treatment notes, and incident reports using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist residents with personal care activities including hygiene, mobility, and daily living tasks while respecting their dignity and privacy. Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or memory care by implementing tailored care plans. Follow proper procedures for tube feeding, catheter care, and other medical treatments as directed by healthcare professionals. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information and medical records. Skills Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic life support (BLS) procedures including CPR and first aid. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of medication administration and patient data. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and effectively while adhering to heavy lifting protocols when necessary. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized care such as tube feeding or hospice support. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers. Knowledge of state healthcare regulations and senior care best practices to ensure compliance at all times.
