Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia, GA Full time, 7p-7a positionPosition Summary:
The Supervisor is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients. Provides direct supervision, promotes quality care for all patients, and evaluates processes, policies and procedures in accordance with standards of practice. The Supervisors will need to be aware of computer programs that are used to allow for documentation and audits of medical records. Demonstrates effective communication and organization skills. Knowledge of performance Improvement/Risk Management skills. Demonstrates the ability to deal constructively with conflict and take appropriate initial action. Requires a high degree of initiative and ability to plan, adapt, and make decisions. Must have positive interest, motivation, professional assertiveness flexibility, ability to establish rapport with others and be subject to change. What the Nursing Supervisor will need:Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia. Current BLS certification required. Minimum of five years' experience in nursing required. Minimum three years' supervisor experience preferred. Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; four-year degree preferredUnit Specific Requirements:
(Within 6 months of employment)ACLS, PALS, NRP
What the Nursing Supervisor will do: Continuously supervises staff to ensure quality nursing care is being delivered. Coordinates, reviews quality improvement monitoring, analyzes and evaluates staff to improve nursing care Plans appropriate staffing patterns/schedules with skilled personnel to meet patient care requirements, as measured by scheduled and emergent procedures, patient activity and productivity standards. Adheres to Infection Control Policies according to the Infection Control Policies and Procedures. Adheres to Environmental Safety Policies-disposes of needles, syringes, and supplies according to specific infection control and hazardous waste procedures. Determines Safety Levels on assigned patients according to safety guidelines.
