Job Description
Production Supervisor | $65,000 Lavonia, GA | Full-Time | Salaried Lead the Floor. Solve Problems. Keep Production Moving. At Shark Solutions, we're doing something that matters: Turning glass waste into valuable resources and helping build a more sustainable future. We're looking for a hands-on Production Supervisor who knows how to lead people, solve problems, and keep a production operation moving safely and efficiently. This isn't a role where you'll spend your day behind a desk. You'll be on the floor, working with your team, making decisions, responding to challenges, and finding better ways to get the job done. If you're the person who sees a problem and thinks, "Let's find a solution," we'd like to meet you. What You'll Own Production & Operations Lead daily production operations across all shifts. Keep production schedules on track and ensure the right people are in the right positions. Monitor production, throughput, labor, quality, safety, and cost performance. Step in and provide hands-on operational support when needed. Respond quickly to production disruptions and emergency downtime. Escalate downtime exceeding 30 minutes to the Operations Manager and Operations Director. Work with Maintenance, Planning, and Operations to get equipment and production back on track. Identify ways to improve productivity, efficiency, and operating costs. Keep production priorities and expectations clear across the team. Lead People, Not Just Processes Lead, coach, train, and support production employees. Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable. Build a positive, respectful, and safety-focused team culture. Help employees succeed by providing direction, feedback, and training. Partner with HR on staffing, attendance, employee relations, training, performance, and workforce matters. Communicate workforce and staffing concerns to management and HR. Support consistent application of company policies and procedures. Safety Comes First Maintain a safe and healthy production environment. Reinforce OSHA requirements, company safety standards, and safe operating practices. Ensure employees are properly trained for their jobs. Support incident investigations and corrective actions. Lead by example when it comes to safety and accountability. Support environmental responsibilities, including required stormwater sampling and testing. Quality & Inventory Monitor production quality and ensure established standards are met. Perform and document daily quality testing of glass cullet. Identify and address quality issues quickly. Perform inventory cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records. Use ERP systems and Excel to track inventory and production information. Communicate inventory needs and issues to the appropriate teams. Shipping, Receiving & Material Handling Coordinate inbound and outbound freight activities. Ensure shipping and receiving deadlines are met. Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation. Operate or oversee forklifts, pallet jacks, and front-end loaders as needed. Look for opportunities to make shipping and receiving safer and more efficient. Make Things Bette r We want a supervisor who doesn't accept "that's the way we've always done it." You'll be expected to: Identify inefficiencies and recommend better solutions. Use data and KPIs to understand what's working—and what's not. Look for opportunities to reduce downtime, improve productivity, and control costs. Apply Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles. Take ownership of problems and follow them through to resolution. What We're Looking For You don't need to check every box. We're looking for someone with the leadership ability, production experience, and mindset to succeed in this role. Required Qualifications 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in manufacturing, production, recycling, industrial, or a similar environment. Experience leading production employees and managing day-to-day operations. Experience with staffing, scheduling, shift coverage, and workforce coordination. Experience training, coaching, and developing employees. Experience working with HR on employee relations, attendance, performance, and workforce matters. Strong understanding of workplace safety and OSHA requirements. Ability to respond quickly to downtime, equipment issues, and production emergencies. Experience tracking production KPIs such as throughput, quality, labor, cost, and safety. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to analyze production and staffing needs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Experience with inventory management, shipping, receiving, and cycle counting. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn ERP systems. Ability to operate or oversee forklifts, pallet jacks, and front-end loaders as needed. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Planning, Quality, and HR. Comfortable working in a hands-on production environment. Strong organization, judgment, accountability, and follow-through. Preferred Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Manufacturing, recycling, glass, or industrial experience. Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience. ERP experience. OSHA or other safety certifications. Experience leading a multi-shift production operation.
