Job Description
About Us At Ascend Mental Health Center, we provide comprehensive outpatient psychiatric care and psychological services. Our clinical offerings include specialized, cutting-edge interventional treatments such as IM Ketamine therapy and Spravato® (esketamine). We are seeking a Lead Medical Assistant / Operations Manager (CMA or MA) with strong administrative capabilities and supervisory experience. This role relies heavily on administrative coordination, workflow management, and clinic oversight, with targeted direct patient care focused primarily on administering injections and supporting our interventional treatment protocols. Key Responsibilities Administrative & Supervisory Leadership (Primary Focus): Oversee day-to-day administrative workflows for the clinical support team, ensuring efficient patient flow and schedule adherence. Train, onboard, and manage clinical support staff, serving as the bridge between prescribers (MD/DO, NP, PA) and administrative staff. Manage prior authorizations, medication refill logistics, lab coordination, and pharmacy communications. Maintain clinical inventory, medical supplies, and strict compliance logs for specialized treatments. Specialized Clinical Care (Limited Direct Patient Contact): Oversee the IM Ketamine and Spravato technicians who: Administer intramuscular (IM) injections and medications under provider direction. Assist prescribers with setup, administration, and patient observation for IM Ketamine treatments. Facilitate rooming, monitoring, and documentation for Spravato® (esketamine) patient sessions in accordance with REMS guidelines. Handle specialized clinical inquiries and high-priority patient communication regarding interventional therapies.
