Job Description

Job Summary:
Responsible for the overall management of the Patient Access Services including but not limited to obtaining patient demographic and financial information and payor compliance, on each assigned shift. Includes assigned management responsibilities for scheduling, employee evaluations and hiring and counseling of employees.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Experience:
Two years in a hospital or other healthcare setting in the areas of admissions and/or billing, with an emphasis on payor compliance and customer service. In lieu of experience, up to two years of advanced education in management may be substituted for experience.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Competency in team building skills with accountability to those teams. Ability to effect change by assuming leadership roles in in interdisciplinary teams and supporting the growth and development of team members. Ability to communicate and collaborate with physicians, staff, community and payors to meet patient access needs and hospital financial needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a business or healthcare related field.
Experience:
Four years or more of Patient Registration experience and one year in a management role.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to use Applications. Basic knowledge of admitting procedures, insurance coverage, billing requirements, collections, government and/or agency requirements.
