Job Description

The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office or healthcare setting, strong communication skills and a basic understanding of medical terminology, appointments, and diagnostic testing. Responsibilities Make outgoing calls to patients regarding appointments that are due or recommended Schedule appointments and assist patients with coordinating their care Make outgoing calls to patients regarding labs, diagnostic testing, imaging, and other testing that is due Contact patients to encourage completion of recommended follow-up care Obtain medical records and test reports from outpatient and inpatient facilities Follow up with hospitals, specialists, imaging centers, laboratories, and other healthcare facilities to obtain outstanding reports Document all patient outreach and follow-up activities accurately in the electronic medical record Review patient charts to identify outstanding appointments, testing, reports, and follow-up needs Communicate appropriately with clinical staff regarding patient follow-up Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations Provide professional and courteous customer service to patients Perform other administrative and clinical support duties as assigned Qualifications Previous medical office or healthcare experience preferred Basic clinical knowledge and understanding of medical terminology required Familiarity with common laboratory tests, diagnostic testing, imaging, and specialist appointments preferred Experience with an electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) system preferred Excellent telephone and communication skills Professional and compassionate manner when speaking with patients Strong organizational and follow-up skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills Ability to maintain patient confidentiality Preferred Experience Candidates with experience as a Medical Assistant, LPN, Patient Care Coordinator, Medical Receptionist, Referral Coordinator or similar healthcare position are encouraged to apply.
Pay:
From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
