PSYCHOTHERAPY CENTER SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Clinic Supervisor has responsibility for clinical supervision at Bleuler's Psychotherapy Center outpatient services. Responsibilities include supervision of clinical staff and Interns in the outpatient programs, assuring the clinical staff carries out their job responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner. The Clinic Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of care in order to ensure the appropriateness and effectiveness of outpatient services, identification of gaps in service delivery system, representing the agency at meetings, conferences and public forums, development and implementation of processes and services that will improve the service delivery system, program development - including monitoring revenue, productivity, outcomes, staff training and development and staff supervision, compliance with policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, audit readiness, and new initiatives. The position requires the Clinic Supervisor to not only have clinical operations and supervisory experience, but also to adapt to the evolving MHOTRS and New York State Office of Addiction Services and Support (OASAS) structure.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support recovery by providing services that reflect our deeply held values that include the recognition of individual rights of self-determination, choice, shared decision-making, and collaboration. Utilize evidence-based practices; always embracing a trauma-informed and person-centered approach. Participate in the recruitment of clinical staff, including conducting interviews. Collaborate in the process of orientation and train new hire ensuring a smooth onboarding process. Secure appropriate training and supervision for clinicians and interns. Secure quality of clinical services are maintained through supervision and other tracking/monitoring methods. Secure quality improvement projects are followed and monitored. Secure performance reviews are completed annually for staff under direct supervision, including establishing specific, individual professional development goals. Address performance related issues through effective communication, coaching, and development. Run, analyze, and utilize data driven reports in supervision to monitor performance. Ensure all services are documented by clinicians in real-time including no-show status. Secure clinical records are accurate, current, and meet the Office of Mental Health 599-regulations and OASAS client billing standards. Monitor clinicians' schedules and PTO requests to ensure the clinic always has adequate coverage. Provide crisis intervention as needed, including being part of the after-hour emergency phone coverage. Conduct and/or follow-up with client utilization review as part of clinician's supervision to ensure clients are receiving treatment that are clinically indicated and client centered. Review all reports of suspected abuse or neglect of vulnerable adults or minors. Ensure all appropriate actions are taken. Inform Chief Operating Officer and Compliance Officer if reports involve alleged maltreatment by staff, students, or volunteers. Review all incident reports. Consider actions to be taken and implement changes to avoid similar incidents in the future. Inform the Chief Operating Officer and Compliance Officer in a timely manner of all relevant clinical and liability issues and make recommendations for any changes in procedures. Participate in internal and external committees and management team meetings including IRC committee meetings. Provide back-up clinical care to clients when assigned clinician is unavailable, including group(s) coverage. Manage a small caseload, as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Must hold Master Degree in Social Work. Valid NYS LCSW or LCSW-R. Requires a minimum of three years of clinical experience, with a focus on working with clients experiencing mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and/or co-occurring (dual diagnosis) disorders. Requires three years of supervisory experience in a clinical or behavioral health setting. Demonstrated knowledge and experience providing services to individuals with substance use disorders, gambling (preferred) and mental health conditions across child, adolescent, and adult populations. Knowledge and fluency with EHR modules and reports. Familiarity with computer technology including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet, and typing of documents. Must be sensitive to cultural, religious, racial, disability and gender issues. Must have knowledge of HIPAA regulations, all federal & NYS State patient privacy regulations/laws, and health information-applicable state regulations. Must demonstrate ability to develop, evaluate, and act on analytical information. Proficient in computer technology and ability to learn applications needed for recordkeeping and generating reports. Able to work flexible hours including evenings and days - according to needs of program. Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Strict compliance with New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and Office of Mental Health Part 599 regulations and requirements for operation of programs. Knowledge of the OASAS article 32, OMH Part 599 regulations, and directives for certified OASAS and licensed MHOTRS program. Knowledge of and adherence to Bleuler Psychotherapy Center guidelines, policies, and procedures. Secure compliance with all protocols and guidance's including failed claims/activities related issues within a timely fashion. Provide counseling, motivation, coaching/ discipline for staff under direct supervision. Safeguard the physical safety of personnel, clients, and guests at the clinic.
