Job Description

BACKGROUND
Forestdale is a NYC child welfare agency working to prevent child abuse/neglect through parenting, prevention, and foster care services, focusing on low-income and immigrant communities in NYC. Forestdale operates out of three offices to better serve the families of Brooklyn and Queens. We help thousands of families work through complex trauma, parents raise the next amazing generation of children, and youth successfully launch into adulthood. Forestdale s mission is to ensure that children and families have the fundamental assets they need to thrive and live independently. Job Summary The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the clinical and administrative supervision of the LBHP team in the Behavioral Health Program/ Article 29-I. S/he/they support the LBHP team in the use of best practices behavioral health assessments, crisis management, treatment plan development and therapeutic interventions to children involved in the child welfare system. In addition, the Clinical Supervisor must ensure that all regulations form OCFS, OMH and DOH are followed.
Essential Functions:
The supervisor will provide clinical and administrative supervision to the mental health providers. Will act as liaison and provide coordination between the medical staff, health homes program, Article 29-I administration, and case planning team to ensure that the children in our care are receiving the behavioral health services they need. Review and co-sign all the documentation completed by the LBHP (including Progress notes, Mental Health Intake and Reassessments, Evaluations, Comprehensive Treatment Plans, OLP treatment plans, and court reports). Assigns cases and monitors caseload. Complete necessary case-related and supervisory documentation Participate in program development and quality improvement activities. Attend weekly case conferences as a support to the LBHP. Provide psychotherapeutic supports Complete other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements Master s degree from an accredited university in behavioral sciences or related field At least 3 years of supervisory experience in the delivery of direct services to children, youth and families Skills and competencies including, but not limited to, oral and written communication, program evaluation, solid clinical skills. Knowledge of Trauma interventions Compliance with: Required background checks, including NYS Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse/Maltreatment, NYS Sex Offender Registry, NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services fingerprinting, NYS Justice Center Staff Exclusion List, NYS OMIG Medicaid Exclusion List. Mandated reporter training. Applicable provisions of the NYS Education Law with respect to hiring and retaining licensed professionals Must have LCSW licensure. Spanish a plus
