Schedule/Hours:

All shifts available, with a strong need for 2nd and 3rd shifts (shift hours can vary) Eligible for shift differentials: $3/hour for 2nd shift, $3.50/hour for 3rd shift (must work at least 4 hours in applicable shift)

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required Minimum of 1 year relevant histology experience in a clinical or hospital laboratory setting Histotechnician or Histotechnologist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Strong grasp of specimen handling, tissue preparation, and quality control concepts

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare specimens for microscopic examination, including embedding, cutting, staining, and immunocytochemical procedures Process tissues for molecular testing under departmental guidance Ensure high-throughput workflow and accurately handle stat requests Troubleshoot laboratory processes and follow up on any variables impacting specimen integrity Maintain comprehensive documentation related to instrument maintenance and quality control Train and support colleagues, including Histotechnologists and Histotechnicians Grossly assess tissue specimens in the operating room and collaborate with Attending physicians/Fellows to ensure appropriate handling If you have a passion for precise laboratory work and want to play a vital role in supporting clinical teams, this direct hire position in histopathology is an excellent match for your skills.
