Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling tools such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation. Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being, especially for those with dementia or neurodevelopmental disorders. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and ensuring adherence to infection control protocols. Offer transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or community outings, ensuring client safety at all times. Experience Candidates should have prior experience working in home health, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes. Experience with Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, or supporting individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities is highly valued. Familiarity with patient observation techniques, patient monitoring, medication management, and implementing care plans is essential. Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, compassion for diverse populations—including geriatrics—and the ability to handle heavy lifting safely when assisting clients. Prior exposure to HIPAA compliance and experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities will set you apart as an ideal candidate for this rewarding role.
