Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or aging-related needs. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods Monitor patients' vital signs and observe their condition to ensure safety and health, documenting changes accurately in care plans Administer medication following HIPAA regulations and client-specific protocols, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety standards Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption to promote healthy eating habits Support clients during community outings or transportation using personal transportation assistance, ensuring safety at all times Implement individualized care plans designed by healthcare professionals, including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism support, and hospice care Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to infection control protocols Experience Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges such as autism or intellectual disabilities support is highly preferred Group home experience or assisted living experience demonstrating familiarity with residential care settings Knowledge of patient observation techniques, patient monitoring, and vital signs measurement in home health or nursing home environments Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts or other manual handling equipment Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in dementia or Alzheimer's care is a plus Experience working within HIPAA guidelines to protect client confidentiality and privacy Background in geriatrics, home & community care, long-term care, or hospice enhances your ability to provide comprehensive support Join us if you're passionate about caregiving and eager to empower individuals through compassionate support.
