Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as a Full-Time Live-In Caregiver, where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, personalized care to individuals in need of support within their homes or assisted living environments. This position offers the unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships while ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of your clients. As a live-in caregiver, you will be an integral part of creating a nurturing environment that promotes independence and dignity for those you serve. Duties Provide comprehensive personal care assistance, including help with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health through observation of vital signs and overall condition, reporting any concerns promptly Assist with medication management and administration following medical instructions and documentation protocols Support clients with medical procedures such as catheter care, wound care, and end-of-life care in accordance with healthcare regulations Maintain detailed medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy standards Facilitate safe patient transfers utilizing proper methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the home environment Engage in meaningful communication with clients to promote mental well-being and provide companionship during your shift Follow all home healthcare regulations, including infection control practices, patient confidentiality, and safety protocols Assist with household chores such as cleaning, laundry, and light housekeeping to support a clean and safe living space Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare settings is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia (including Alzheimer's disease), or memory care needs Familiarity with home health agency procedures and compliance standards such as HIPAA and OSHA guidelines Proven ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods Previous live-in employment experience is advantageous but not required; a strong caregiving background is essential Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications in hospice care or geriatrics are a plus This role offers the rewarding opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of your clients while developing your skills in geriatric and specialized care.
