Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings accurately. Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety. Prepare nutritious meals, assist with feeding as needed, and maintain cleanliness in dining areas. Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and utilize proper manual handling techniques for safe mobility. Document care activities thoroughly in compliance with healthcare standards and coordinate with nursing staff on patient progress. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety at all times. Skills Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism. Proficiency in patient observation, monitoring vital signs, and recognizing signs of distress or medical emergencies. Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning common areas and resident rooms to maintain a safe environment. Familiarity with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and patient personal care assistance techniques. Strong communication skills for engaging effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Certification in CPR and First Aid; experience with manual handling and heavy lifting is preferred.
