Full-Time, Live-In Position Summary Apex Sheltered Care LLC is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and professional Live-In Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide high-quality support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities residing in a Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA). The DSP will promote independence, dignity, community inclusion, and a safe home environment while assisting residents with activities of daily living according to each individual's Personal Plan and Implementation Strategy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct care and supervision to individuals receiving services. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene as needed. Administer or assist with medications according to agency policies and state regulations (if authorized and trained). Prepare nutritious meals and assist individuals with eating when necessary. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe home environment. Complete required documentation, including daily progress notes, medication records, incident reports, and communication logs. Support individuals in developing independent living skills. Assist with laundry, housekeeping, and other household tasks. Accompany individuals to medical appointments, recreational activities, shopping, religious services, and community outings. Promote individual choice, privacy, dignity, and person-centered services. Recognize and report changes in health, behavior, or safety concerns promptly. Follow behavior support plans and crisis intervention procedures when applicable. Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow agency emergency procedures. Communicate effectively with supervisors, nurses, QIDPs, families, and other team members. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies. Participate in required training and staff meetings. Live-In Responsibilities Reside in the assigned staff living quarters provided by Apex Sheltered Care LLC. Be available for scheduled work hours and designated on-call responsibilities. Maintain professional boundaries while living in the home. Help ensure the safety and security of the residence during assigned shifts. Keep assigned living space clean and respectful of shared household standards. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred. Ability to pass all required background checks and health screenings. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Successful completion of Illinois DSP training requirements. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with transfers when required. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Experience working in a CILA, group home, nursing home, or healthcare setting.
