Job Description
Looking for a fun and out going personality to work with a person with developmental disabilities. Are you an individual who is self directed and independent? Can you motivate yourself and others? Do you have the confidence to work independently with me to help me pursue my goals and dreams to live independently In my home and community? If the answer is yes, then you should consider this job. You will be working one on one with me in my home and community. I offer competitive pay that includes flexible schedule, full time, part time, AON, weekends, PRN , and live-in positions. What will you be doing? teach and assist with daily living skills in my home and community (e.g. lifting, transferring, toileting, personal hygiene, laundry, cooking, cleaning, shopping) implementing my individual plan, outcomes, goals, and strategies. working as a team member monitor me to to ensure my health and safety in regards to medical, behavioral, and environmental issues. plan, assist and participate in community outings with me(recreational activities, vacations, visiting friends and family, shopping, church etc.) maintain my living environment for health and safety administer and record medications accompany me on medical appointments and assist me while at appointments. As well as medical emergencies. complete all required trainings and continue learning Requirements High school diploma or G.E.D related experience preferred working with a person with developmental disabilities, stroke clients, autism experience In personal Support, therapeutic recreation, human services, nursing Required to complete all employee paperwork and trainings— First aid, CPR, CMT, and Mant trainings. have a valid drivers license with an approved clean driving record. must be independent and self directed individual. have excellent oral and written communication. have Excellent oral communication. be willing to Learn new things and understand how to met my needs Seeking a proactive and well-organized person to provide personal supports and community integration supports for a fun and active woman in Ocean Pines, MD. Must enjoy engaging in a variety of community activities. Must demonstrate a strong commitment to help people with developmental disabilities to engage in their community and realize their potential. Be able to provide personal care and teach daily living tasks in the home and community. College coursework in special education, therapeutic recreation, and behavioral sciences preferred. Have 1 year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred. Must be able to drive an accessible van and have an excellent driving record. Must be willing to pass a background check. Must have or be willing to get CPR/First Aid and CMT certification
