Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to ensure comfort and dignity. Support clients with medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain health and safety. Implement individualized care plans by providing patient care, dementia and Alzheimer's care, memory care, and supporting residents with neuro-developmental or intellectual disabilities. Help clients with meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs while encouraging healthy eating habits. Utilize patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to safely assist with mobility and transfers. Conduct patient observation, monitor behavior, and report changes or concerns promptly to the healthcare team. Maintain a clean environment by performing light cleaning duties in client living spaces and common areas to promote hygiene and safety. Provide personal transportation assistance for appointments or community outings, ensuring safe travel for clients. Support residents' rights by respecting privacy, promoting independence, and fostering a respectful atmosphere aligned with care standards. Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA guidelines and assist in updating care plans regularly. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic first aid/CPR certification is essential. Experience working with individuals with autism, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous. Familiarity with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other manual handling equipment is desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams while respecting residents' rights. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility using proper patient transfer techniques. Compassionate caregiving attitude combined with patience, adaptability, and attention to detail. Valid certifications in first aid and CPR are required; ongoing training in HIPAA compliance is expected.
