A Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a member of a designated service provision team with direct responsibility for the implementation of the Individual Plan (IP) and related support services designed for each child participating in the program. A DSP is primarily responsible for working with children with developmental disabilities in their homes and the community. Position requires flexibility in scheduling, use of good judgment, initiative, punctuality, good typing and writing skills, the ability to work autonomously and independently. A DSP is required to follow established agency policies and procedures to ensure general health, welfare and safety for all clients participating in the designated program.
