Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with clients in various settings, including group homes and community environments, fostering independence and promoting personal growth. Duties As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include: Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores. Providing medication administration as prescribed and ensuring compliance with health care plans. Supporting individuals with disabilities, including those with autism or dementia, by implementing personalized care plans. Engaging clients in social and recreational activities to promote community involvement and skill development. Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all areas meet health and safety standards. Assisting with heavy lifting when necessary to support clients in mobility or physical tasks. Documenting client progress and reporting any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate personnel. Must have valid driver's license and a vehicle. Must agree to use your vehicle to take the client out into the community. Mileage is reimbursed for this. Experience Ideal candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Previous experience in home health care or working within group homes is preferred. Familiarity with medication administration protocols and best practices in client care. Experience working with individuals who have disabilities or special needs, particularly those with autism or dementia. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs. A commitment to providing compassionate care while respecting the dignity of each individual served.
