Job Description

1:1 Part-Time Support Staff Needed - Lafayette, NY (DN- SH) A 15-year-old girl living in the Lafayette area is looking for a direct support professional to assist her with pursuing her hobbies, assisting her with her activities of daily living, and supporting her needs at home. She enjoys spending time on her tablet, playing with sensory toys/activities, being around the company of others and being involved in conversations. This candidate should be caring, patient, comfortable with personal care and should have the ability to remain calm following seizure protocol. This candidate must be comfortable with working with two individuals at the same time, as she has a 16 year old brother who lives at home as well who will need assistance with similar needs. This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services. at the agency.
Availability:
Weekdays 3:30pm-7pm and on weekends 11am-7pm Starting pay is $17.50/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.
Location:
Lafayette, NY Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to work independently in the person's home and/or community. Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred. New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required. Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community. Must have a valid drivers license Effective communication and organizational skills required. Flexibility with assignments and schedule required. Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time. Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred. Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
