We are looking for a creative, thoughtful, detail-oriented person to help facilitate activities and groups like Movie Club, Art Class and service projects. Join our dedicated team as a Day Habilitation Direct Support Professional and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. In this vital role, you will provide personalized support, foster independence, and promote community engagement for individuals with diverse needs. Your energy, compassion, and proactive approach will help create a positive environment where everyone can thrive. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in behavioral health, special education, and caregiving while making a lasting impact on the lives of those you serve. Responsibilities Assist individuals with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility to promote independence and self-care skills Support participation in community outings, recreational activities, and social events to enhance socialization and community integration Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each individual's needs to encourage positive behaviors and emotional well-being Collect data on progress toward goals, document observations, and maintain accurate records for program planning and compliance Administer medications following prescribed protocols when necessary and authorized by healthcare professionals Use effective communication skills, to facilitate understanding and interaction with individuals with communication challenges Drive participants safely to activities using company vehicles, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations Qualifications Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or behavioral health needs is highly preferred Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques is a plus Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language preferred but not required Ability to assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and toileting Home & community care experience demonstrating caregiving skills and familiarity with community resources Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for transportation responsibilities Compassionate attitude with excellent interpersonal skills and patience when working with diverse populations Ability to follow detailed instructions, complete data collection accurately, and maintain confidentiality Join us in creating a supportive environment where individuals are empowered to achieve their goals.
