House Manager / Direct Support Professional Hortus Health, LLC | Glenmoore, PA Hortus Health is seeking an experienced, energetic, and compassionate House Manager to join our team and help oversee a home supporting two individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on direct support but also has strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. The House Manager will work directly with the individuals while serving as a leader and resource for the team of support staff and helping ensure that the home runs smoothly. What You'll Do Direct Support Provide hands-on support and companionship to the individuals in their home and community. Assist with daily routines, activities, appointments, and community participation. Develop and participate in meaningful activities based on the individual's interests, goals, and preferences. Promote independence, choice, dignity, and a high quality of life. Team Leadership Serve as a positive and supportive leader for the home's support staff. Help oversee staff schedules and assist with finding coverage when needed. Communicate regularly with team members regarding the individual's needs, routines, and upcoming activities. Provide guidance and support to staff and help ensure consistency across the team. Communicate concerns or changes to agency management. Help welcome and orient new staff to the home and the individual's routines. Home Management Help maintain an organized, clean, comfortable, and welcoming home environment. Oversee household routines and ensure necessary household tasks are completed. Assist with meal planning, grocery needs, household supplies, and organization. Help coordinate appointments, activities, and other aspects of the individual's schedule. Identify household or staffing needs and communicate them proactively to agency management. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: Experienced working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or autism. Energetic, positive, and genuinely enjoys working with people. Dependable and able to take ownership of responsibilities. Organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities. A strong communicator who can work well with a team. Comfortable providing and receiving feedback. Patient, flexible, and able to remain calm when situations don't go as planned. Someone who naturally takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done. Comfortable serving as a role model for other staff. Passionate about helping the individual live a meaningful, active, and fulfilling life. Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus , but we are equally interested in someone who has demonstrated strong initiative and leadership in a direct-care setting. Schedule The House Manager will have a set, established schedule , with the understanding that occasional flexibility may be necessary when staffing or coverage needs arise.
