Personal Care Assistant/Medication Technician

Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Personal Care Assistant/Medication Technician to join our dedicated caregiving team. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance to residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will help create a warm, supportive environment for individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and medication management. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities while working in a fulfilling and dynamic setting. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support Administer medications accurately following established protocols and document all medication activities diligently Monitor residents' vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies, to promote safety and comfort Practice safe patient lifting techniques and manual handling procedures to prevent injury for both residents and staff Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and common spaces Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care delivery Skills Prior assisted living or long-term care experience is highly preferred Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, and memory care best practices Experience working with individuals with developmental or cognitive disabilities in residential or community settings Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and handle medication administration responsibly Strong understanding of resident's rights and ethical caregiving standards Proficiency in first aid, CPR certification, and safe patient lifting practices Excellent client communication skills with a caring, respectful approach toward all residents Join us in providing exceptional care that enriches lives!
