Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, dressing, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques. Monitor residents' vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals promptly. Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption, ensuring dietary needs are met for individuals with specific health conditions like dementia or Alzheimer's. Support residents during community outings or appointments by providing personal transportation assistance and ensuring safety throughout activities. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties in accordance with health standards and facility policies. Document resident progress, update care plans, and communicate effectively with team members to ensure continuity of care. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, first aid, CPR, and vital signs monitoring. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or dementia care needs is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare team members while respecting residents' rights. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive health information. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications related to dementia or memory care are a plus.
