Heart of Tennessee Home Care is seeking a dependable, energetic, and supportive Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work one-on-one with an adult in the Pigeon Forge area. This position is focused primarily on building independence and teaching everyday life skills . We are looking for someone who enjoys coaching, teaching, encouraging, and helping individuals reach personal and employment-related goals.

Responsibilities may include:

Teaching and reinforcing independent living skills Supporting development of employment and work-related skills Helping the individual build greater independence in daily activities Providing instruction, encouragement, and positive reinforcement Assisting with community-based skill development Following the individual's person-centered support plan Documenting services provided as required Communicating professionally with the individual, family, and agency The ideal candidate will be: Patient, dependable, energetic, and encouraging Comfortable taking a teacher/coach approach rather than simply completing tasks for the individual Able to promote independence while providing appropriate support Experienced working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities; autism experience is a plus Comfortable providing one-on-one support in the community Able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality

Requirements:

Must meet Heart of Tennessee Home Care employment requirements Background screening CPR/First Aid certification Completion of required training upon hire Reliable transportation Valid driver's license and automobile insurance if transportation is required for the assignment

Hours:

Approximately 8 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours in the future based on the individual's needs.

Pay:

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 per week
