The Sullivan Development and Activity Center, Inc (SDAC) is looking for a Residential Support Staff to join our team! The Residential Support Staff will be responsible for providing direct care and support to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The Residential Support Staff helps individuals achieve their personal goals, enhance their independence, and participate in community activities. The role involves fostering a positive and inclusive environment while ensuring the safety and well-being of those under their care. Rent and bills are paid.

Responsibilities:

Assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and toileting allnursingschools.com+1. Monitoring and recording vital signs , including blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and respiration interviewguy.com+1. Turning or repositioning bedridden patients to prevent pressure sores and maintain comfort interviewguy.com+1. Maintaining patient hygiene and environment , including changing bed linens, cleaning rooms, and laundering clothing interviewguy.com. Assisting with patient mobility and transfers , including helping patients move within the facility or during discharge Western Governors University. Observing and reporting changes in patients' physical, mental, or emotional conditions to supervising nurses interviewguy.com+1. Providing emotional support to patients and families, fostering a compassionate care environment allnursingschools.com+1. Using medical technology such as electronic health records, charting software, and sometimes assisting with medication administration depending on training and state regulations

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (additional education in a related field is a plus). Ability to work in a group home, home-like settings. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test. Must have experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Must have reliable transportation Knowledge of person-centered planning and individualized support. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Communication skills (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company. Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time. Ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and empathy. Basic first aid and CPR certification (recommended)
