: Buddies4Life has been providing residential/host home/adult day program support for individuals with disabilities, throughout Utah, for the last 4 years. We take pride in being a hands-on program, focusing on specific goals/activities of daily living skills that will help their Buddies see success and greater independence. We seek to ensure that all of our Buddies get the opportunity to practice the highest level of independence through empowering, and meaningful relationships. This is done through service projects, fundraisers, job site visits, question/answer meetings with community leaders, local businesses, and our Buddies even practice monthly yoga training.

DESCRIPTION
Our company provides direct support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this challenging and rewarding position, you will help lead the residents of our group home in preparing their meals, cleaning their home and carrying out other daily tasks. As a Direct Support Professional, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities by providing them with the support they need to thrive
RESPONSIBILITIES
Will Be Required to Drive Transport individuals to and from any planned activity out in the community utilizing personal vehicle. Utilize Person Centered Plans to assess an individual's needs. Participate with individuals in community, social, and recreational activities. Monitor, record, and communicate changes in client's condition and respond as appropriate to the needs of the client and family. Adhere to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and other governmental regulations. Exercise appropriate restraint techniques when interacting with clients to prevent injury. Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management Foster a safe and supportive environment for residents Promote independence and community integration for individuals with disabilities
QUALIFICATIONS
MUST HAVE:
Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, and proof of full coverage auto insurance Ability to pass a criminal background check, and drug test upon hire Experience in care-giving Ability to establish a positive and supportive rapport with individuals Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent time management skills
SKILLS:
Knowledge of systems and procedures related to caregiving and support services Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with individuals with developmental disabilities Compassion and empathy for working with people with developmental disabilities Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of maintaining confidentiality Familiarity with resident rights and the ability to advocate for individuals in your care Experience in home care, assisted living, or senior care is a plus If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and possess the necessary skills to provide exceptional support, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position as a Direct Support Professional.
Pay:
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour
