Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to support individuals with diverse needs in various care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, including experience with seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized support such as dementia or Alzheimer's care. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through attentive personal assistance, health monitoring, and compassionate caregiving. Responsibilities Provide personal care assistance, including help with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Assist clients with medication administration and monitor vital signs to ensure health stability. Support clients with meal preparation and nutritional needs while adhering to dietary restrictions and care plans. Facilitate patient observation and communication to ensure safety and well-being. Assist with patient transfers using manual handling techniques or equipment such as Hoyer lifts, ensuring safety for both client and caregiver. Maintain cleanliness of the client's environment through light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and sanitation. Support clients' participation in community activities or appointments by providing personal transportation assistance. Follow all HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and uphold residents' rights at all times. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to provide patient monitoring, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, or neurodevelopmental disorder support. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of care plans, medication administration protocols, and patient transfer methods is essential. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional training in hospice care or geriatrics is advantageous. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and home & community care practices is necessary for success in this role.
